It sports a 13.2-channel XLR pre-out and a 13.2-channel RCA pre-out, and features Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D compatibility for object-based audio decoding. Built-in Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 support allows the preamplifier to wirelessly stream music from compatible sources, such as smartphones and tablets.

Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity allows the AV8805A to access music from your connected computer or NAS. Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, and Josh.ai compatibility enables you to control certain functions of the preamplifier with just your voice through your compatible devices. With eight HDMI inputs and three outputs, the AV8805A can act as a video switcher for your HD source components. It will pass through 8K UHD signals as well as HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG HDR formats. The preamplifier also has a USB port for accessing media stored on USB flash drives.

The Marantz AV8805A offers outstanding construction for the best, unaltered music and movie playback. The highly rigid base chassis – the foundation for all circuit boards carrying the sensitive audio signal – leaves no chance for microphonic effects through unwanted vibration. The oversized toroidal transformer feeding the big main capacitors is set on an extra 5mm aluminum pedestal for extra stability. All electronics are supported by copper plating on the main chassis, which generates the best ground connection at any point and improves signal-to-noise behavior significantly. Finally, everything is exceptionally well-covered by a heavy top lid constructed from three pieces.

All-Zone TV Audio

Share the main zone TV audio to all of your zones without losing fully discrete multichannel playback in the main zone. Select “Source” for the second or third zone from the AVR Remote app so that main zone audio will not switch to stereo PCM.

Smart TV Connectivity

The Marantz AV8805A can be controlled with your smart TV’s remote via the HDMI CEC functionality associated with your TV. Simply set “HDMI Control” to on in your receiver, then set “Smart Menu” to on and begin controlling the preamp with your TV’s remote. The Smart Menu home screen offers quick access to source and surround mode selections, the preamp’s setup menu, and four Smart Selects.

The Marantz AVR Remote app for iOS, Android, and Kindle provides complete control over Marantz network A/V receivers and preamps. Use it to power on/off, adjust volume, input, and settings, or switch instantly to the HEOS built-in app.

Equipped with the full Audyssey Platinum suite of advanced DSP algorithms, the AV8805A features Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic correction. With the supplied measurement microphone, MultEQ XT32 analyzes each speaker’s output (including the subwoofers) at up to eight measurement locations and generates precision digital filters that optimize each channel for the correct frequency and time domain response.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume smooths out disruptive jumps in volume (such as TV commercials), letting you listen at lower levels while still enjoying clear dialogue, music, and sound. External Control Capabilities

The Marantz AV8805A offers IP control capability for major third-party control devices, as well as Control4 SDPP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) certification for seamless integration with Control4 home automation equipment. IR (infrared) remote control input and output are included on the rear panel for remote control compatibility with other components in your home theater system.

OvrC and Domotz Pro, two major remote monitoring and management technologies, are also compatible with the preamp, along with a dedicated web user interface to set up your A/V receiver from a computer on the same network. Your installer can easily monitor the status of connected products and troubleshoot remotely from a separate location or on-the-go.
